Eureka Tower · Southbank, Melbourne

Melbourne Observation Deck

An observation deck 285 m above the Yarra: the city, the bay and the hills in one sweep, a glass cube that slides out over the street, and a bar by the windows.

Tickets

Melbourne Skydeck is the observation deck that fills the whole of level 88 of Eureka Tower, the blue-glass skyscraper with a gold crown on the south bank of the Yarra River. The deck is an indoor floor walled in glass, with viewfinders that name the landmarks below.

Entry covers the deck; The Edge, the Voyager Theatre VR cinema and Bar 88 are paid for on top, alone or in packages. One floor up, the Eureka 89 restaurant serves dinner packages that include the deck.

Melbourne Skydeck highlights

01

The Edge

A glass cube slides 3 m out of the building with you inside; its glass turns from frosted to clear nearly 300 m above the street.

02

360° views

The CBD, the Yarra, the MCG and Port Phillip Bay, and on a clear day the Dandenong Ranges.

03

Sunset over the city

The busiest hour on the deck: book ahead and arrive early for a place at the glass.

04

Voyager Theatre

An 11-minute 6D ride through 16 Melbourne and Victoria sights, with motion, sound and scent.

05

Bar 88

Billed as Melbourne's highest bar: cocktails, wine, coffee, pies and sausage rolls by the windows.

06

A tower named for a revolt

Eureka Tower takes its name from the 1854 Eureka Stockade: the gold crown stands for the gold rush, the red stripe for blood spilt in the revolt.
